Signature Level 2 Certificate in BSL

Functional communication in BSL will be developed on a range of real life, routine, and daily experiences. The student will be able to deal with most routine language tasks and develop an enhanced grasp of grammar to cope with some non-routine tasks. Students will be introduced to a range of regional variations in BSL. The course consists of 3 units: Units BSL201 – receptive skills;  BSL202 – productive skills; and BSL203 – conversational skills. It follows the BSL Level 2 Certificate specification (you can find this on www.signature.org.uk) and students will

• develop their conversational BSL, receptive and productive skills
• learn how to deal with most routine language tasks
• build upon their vocabulary and grammatical knowledge
• be provided with examples of regional variations in sign language
  

The course is classroom based and uses a variety of teaching methods including group and pair work activities, role play and simulations, demonstrations, discussions, PowerPoint presentations, video, conversation.
